Obituary

George Grupillion, age 68, entered into heaven on July 25th 2015, in Boston, Massachusetts at MGH, due to complications of Graft vs. Host disease, after winning a courageous battle with cancer. He died in the arms of his devoted wife and surrounded by his loving children. George was the cherished husband of Catherine (Kate) Miller Grupillion and devoted father of; Jason Grupillion and Susan Carrigan of Kingston, Jared and Jean Marie Grupillion of Plymouth, Ashley Grupillion of Plymouth, Daniel and Stacey Mastrangelo of Marshfield, Catherine and Joseph Dyer of Halifax, and Karen and Richard McCarthy of Pembroke. George was born in Kempton, Germany, son of Waldemar and Irene Grupillion, George was a 1966 graduate of Brockton High School and a 1971 graduate of Mass Maritime Academy. He was also a member of the American Maritime Officers. George’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He was an avid boater sharing time between sailing with his friend and brother in law, Mike Miller, and cruising in his Uniflite. He loved all his Boston sports and NASCAR. George also leaves behind his treasured cousin Henry Schiller and his wife Beth of Isen, Germany. In addition to his wife and children, he leaves his treasured grandchildren; Amanda Griffin and Michael and Daniel McCarthy of Pembroke, Cameren, Olivia, and Jacob Mastrangelo of Marshfield, Meghan, Katie, and Anna Dyer of Halifax, Logan and Benjamin Grupillion of Plymouth, and Austin Grupillion of Plymouth. George also leaves behind in-laws Jack and Donna Miller of West Roxbury, Marion and Carl Robinson of Pembroke, Mike and Pat Miller of Rockland, Tom Miller of Brockton, Christine Miller of Pembroke, Bill and Maria Miller of Easton and Stephen and Kathy Miller of Carver. He is also survived by a sister, Betty George of Raynham. Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. Pembroke on Thursday, July 30, from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 31, at St. Joseph the Worker Church at 11:00AM, located at 1 Maquan St, Hanson.
