New Bedford – Etelvina Espinola , age 88 of Dartmouth, passed away on Friday July 24, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Serafim J. Espinola and the daughter of the late Rosalina Augusta (daSilva) and Manuel Correia Ivo.
Mrs. Espinola was born Graciosa, Azores she moved to this country in 1969 and has lived in this area ever since. She worked at Cornell Dubilier for many years up until her retirement.
Her surviving family includes 3 childeren: Manuel G. Espinola and his wife Heidi of Acushnet, Glorinda doBem and her husband Joaquim of Dartmouth and Lourdes Lima and her husband Fernando also of Dartmouth; 5 grandchildren: Rosalyn and Jeffrey doBem, Kevin Lima, Chelsey and Spencer Espinola; 2 great-grandchilderen: Destiny and Mariah; 1 brother: Aldavino Ivo. She is also serviced by several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by 2 siblings: Valentin Silva and Hortense Bettencourt.
Her funeral will be Tuesday beginning in the funeral home at 7:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Marys Church South Dartmouth at 9:00 A.M. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will Monday evening from 6 – 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
