Obituary

Maureen M. Lein, age 60, of Chester, NH, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2015.

She was born in Manchester, NH on July 25, 1954, the daughter of Irene (Daigle) Lein and Donald H. Lein, Sr. She was married to Stephen Chisholm on February 26, 2007, though they'd spent many years together prior to their beach wedding in Hawaii.

She was a graduate of St. Augustin School (1968), Trinity High School (1972), Anna Maria College (1976), UMass-Lowell, and Antioch College. She was employed in a number of jobs over the years at Textron Automotive Technology Center, Stahl USA, and XDD Ltd, as a coatings engineer, and health and safety manager. Most recently, she was self-employed as an environmental health and safety compliance professional.

She was active in her community, having served on the Planning Board, and on the Select Board in Chester. She also served for a time as School District Moderator. Other memberships include the Chester Conservation Commission, Wasson Pond, and Southeast NH Land Trust.

She played softball for many years in the Manchester Women's Softball League.

Maureen was an accomplished world traveler, spending much time in Europe with Steve and her friends. Her favorite travel destination was Hawaii, which she had visited frequently. She had a wonderful vacation there earlier this year.

She enjoyed being outdoors, birding, kayaking & biking with her husband, Steve. She loved her gardens, the NH Fisher Cats, the New England Patriots, her dogs, and a good glass or two of wine.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Chisholm, her twin sister, Marlene Lein, her brother, Donald H. Lein, Jr., niece Erica C. Lein, nephew Jackson M. Lein, sister-in-law, Kellie Millmont, nephews Shaun Bassett, Tyler Bassett, and Trey Bassett, her little dog, Louie, and many beloved cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester.
