Eva Maran Tabor Long, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Ocilla Church of God in Ocilla, with the Rev. Joel Shirley, the Rev. Clayton Dowd and the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 2 PM until 2:45 PM, in the sanctuary of the church.
Mrs. Long was born August 22, 1936, in Gastonia, North Carolina, to the late John Elbert Tabor and the late Kathleen Moya. She was a housewife and had lived in the community for over 22 years. She enjoyed going to church, reading, singing, making radio appearances and working on puzzles. Mrs. Long was a member of the Ocilla Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years: Jimmy Long of Fitzgerald; children: Donna Marie Smith of Apple Valley, California, Janice Smith of Yucca Valley, California, Michael & Marcia Smith of Barstow, California and Dean & Teresa McDonald of Abingdon, Virginia; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a brother, John Tabor of Tifton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Martha Turner and Janice Day.
