Obituary

CHICOPEE – Liela A. (Noska) Pringle, 80, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, July 20, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at her daughter Cheryl’s home in South Hadley surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on April 6, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late Casimir Noska and Helen (Domurad) Noska Marier. Her father, Casimir, was Called Home in 1936 when Liela was just a year old. She was raised by her mother, Helen, who later married Leo J. Marier who raised her as his daughter. Liela was raised in the Aldenville section of Chicopee and attended local schools. In 1953, Liela graduated from Chicopee High School where she was a majorette for four years and proudly led the Chicopee High School Band in her senior year. Liela moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee in 1963 where she was active in the community. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Fairview and a member of the Saint Anne Sodality Guild. She was a member of the Parent Teacher’s Association and assisted her children’s local scouting groups. After many years as an active stay at home mom, Liela acquired several positions in the workforce including employment at Mercy Hospital, Westover Air Force Base and the United States Postal Service. It was through these venues that she forged many lifelong friendships. Liela enjoyed traveling with her wonderful friends to many corners of the world and especially enjoyed her many cruise vacations. Liela leaves her two devoted children, Cheryl A. Pringle of South Hadley and Donald B. Pringle, Jr. of Chicopee; her loving sister, Therese Rogers and her husband, Charles, of West Springfield; and several dear nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Joseph Marier who was Called Home in 2010. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, July 25, 2015 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
