TEWKSBURY - Helen F. (Cassidy) Interrante, age 70, a retired mental health residential caregiver and resident of Tewksbury for the past three decades, died unexpectedly on Tuesday afternoon, July 21, at the Winchester Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Frank A. Interrante Sr., with whom she had celebrated a Fiftieth wedding anniversary on June sixth.
Helen was born in Cambridge, one of five children of the late Ambrose and Margaret (Powers) Cassidy, and raised in Cambridge, where she lived until moving to Tewksbury in 1986.
Throughout her life she had enjoyed camping throughout New England with her family and friends.
She worked as a health care provider for the Department of Developmental Services in North Reading until her retirement. She was the former owner of Helen’s Ceramic Shop in Cambridge, and continued her artistry in ceramics throughout her life. More recently, she was active in creating stained glass art at the Tewksbury Senior Center.
Besides her husband, she leaves four children, Frank A. Interrante Jr., and his wife Donna (Wagner) of Billerica, Keith M. Interrante and his wife Jacqueline (Normile) of Lynn, Denise N. Interrante of Billerica, and Brenda R. Humphrey and her husband Walter Jr., of Billerica; eight grandchildren, Ryan and Jenna Interrante of Billerica, Matthew Normile of FL and Alyssa Interrante of Billerica, Frankie and Michael Nocera of Billerica, Karmella and Walter Humphrey III of Billerica; her brothers, Robert Cassidy Sr., and his wife Shirley of Somerville, Tomas Cassidy Sr., and his wife Anna of Saugus; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Cassidy of Cambridge; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Joseph A. Cassidy and sister, Margaret Cassidy.
Visiting hours Monday, July 27, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her funeral will begin Tuesday, July 28, at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury.
