Obituary

James M. Wakely of Alton Bay, New Hampshire, died Friday, July 17, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Joseph Bouchard and Evelyn (Maltacea) Wakely. James was a longtime resident of Medford, and owner of Paddock Café in Somerville for 25 years.

James was the beloved husband of Elaine (Scolley) Wakely and the devoted father of Donna Geer and her husband John of Stoneham, and David Wakely of New Hampshire. He was the loving grandfather of Dylan Geer, and his grandson in heaven David Geer. James was the brother of Michael Wakely and his late partner Art, Sandra Davin and her late husband Bob, all of Woburn, Marcia Hillson and her husband Lonnie of Melrose, Gregory Bouchard and his wife Joanne, Doreen Caliri and her husband Anthony, all of Woburn, Daniel Bouchard and his companion Sandy, Lisa Layton and her husband Mark, all of Medford, and the late Marilyn. He was the brother-in-law of Cynthia Bouchard of Winthrop, Patricia Travers and her husband George of Medford, the late Carol Trainer and her husband George of Florida. James is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, July 25, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, July 24, from 3 through 8 PM. Services for James will be conducted along with those for his son, David Wakely, and will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
