Mary J. Maloney, age 82, a resident of Woburn for most of her life, past away April 28th at the Kindred Care Hospital, Boston North Shore in Peabody, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Maloney. Born in Woburn she was the daughter of the late Mary Jane (Kelly) and John M. Connolly.
Mrs. Maloney worked for over thirty years as a supervisor for the New England Telephone Co. She also worked for a period of time with the Sylvania Co..
Mrs. Maloney enjoyed crossword puzzles, camping and spending the summer months in Old Orchard Beach, ME and she also enjoyed wintering in Ft Myers, FL. Mrs. Maloney was a 1940 graduate of St. Charles High School. She was a member of the Pioneer Club wich was a social club for retired employees of the telephone company. She was very active in organizing luncheons and many other social events. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Kindred Care Hospital, Boston North Shore, 15 King St. Peabody, MA 01960.
Mrs. Maloney is survived by her daughters Mary Margaret Cahoon and her husband Bryan of Dover, NH and Frances M. Maloney of Riverview, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shane Michael Cahoon, Mallorie Jane Cahoon, John E. Keough, Melissa Keough, Ericka Jackson and two great granddaughters. She is further survived by her sisters, Rita B. Duran of Woburn, Ann Joyce of Waltham, Sr. Mary Michael Connolly SND of Ipswich and Louise Viles of Dedham.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Monday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn at 10 AM. Realtives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 3 thru 7. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary cemetery, Woburn.
