Jeanmarie (Balsamo) Sierra, age 40, of Salem, NH, died Sunday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA, of a Heart Attack.
She was born in Boston, MA, and was a life long resident of Salem, NH, and graduated from Salem High School in 1984. Jeanmarie was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Our best friend Jean died Sunday. She had a kindness in her heart that was uncommon to most. It wasn’t that she thought her most important job was to be an outstanding mother to her own children because so many in her heart were her children as well. Jean absorbed into her heart and family, her grandmother Helen who she cared for, for 17 years, her two nieces and her nephew when their need became greater than her own. There was always a clean warm bed and a warm meal for any other child that came to her in need. In fact if you didn’t take a plate and eat you would upset her.
Jean met her soulmate Rick 14 years ago, the excitement in her voice said it all. Rick was the love of her life, her best friend, her everything, who became part of Jean’s caring and loving world wholeheartedly. We will live every day hoping her children aspire to be what she believed they could be.
We will shed a tear every day for the loss we feel and then giggle or smile remembering Jean’s lust for life, her spontaneous kindness, and her gift for gab.
Jean, you have taught us to look at the glass half full and we are all better people because you touched our lives.
Jean, our Rock of Gibraltar, we are comforted knowing you are with us in our hearts, spreading the sunshine only you could give, freely and without hesitation. Now your heart can be as big as you wanted it to be. You loved unconditionly and you honor your family, loved ones and friends always. Now our friend, relax and take your well deserved break.

3 Daughters: Yvette Sierra of Delaware, Amber Balsamo of Boston, MA, and Jackie Carelli of Salem, NH
1 Sister: Sandy Balsamo of Nashua, NH
Maternal Grandmother: Helen of Salem, NH
Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 28, 2005 from 3-6 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 6PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH. Cremation will follow.
