Elizabeth (Corrigan) )O’Brien of Needham, formerly of South Yarmouth and Dorchester died on Monday April 25, 2005 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham. She was 95 years old. Born in Boston, Mrs. O’Brien resided in Dorchester for 30 years before moving to South Yarmouth. A resident of South Yarmouth for 28 years Elizabeth recently moved to Needham to live with her daughter Kathleen. A teacher for many years, she taught in the Elementary Schools in Boston and Holbrook. She was an avid reader and gardener who enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She was an adventurous traveler with her husband Francis. Francis died in Hyannis on July 5th 1994. Elizabeth was the devoted mother of Robert E. O’Brien of Hingham, Kathleen Powers and her husband Joseph of Needham and the late John D. O’Brien, and Maureen Barton. Dear mother in law of Anita O’Brien of Needham and Fredric Barton of Punta Gorda, Fl. Sister in law of Paula “Leola” Corrigan of South Yarmouth. Cherished grandmother of Carol Breen, Dr. Lisa Breen and her husband John Welch, John W. Breen, John P. O’Brien and his wife Deborah Dashoff, Eileen M. O’Brien, Devin Powers and Cullan Powers. Also survived by her 3 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday April 29th at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church in Needham at 11:30 AM. Visiting hours on Thursday 4-7 PM. Internment St. Mary’s Cemetery in Needham.
