Dorothy “Dot” E. Kennedy, 86, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, April 28, 2005 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Steve Waldorf officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kennedy was born June 17, 1918, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late John S. and Phoebe Poe Newsome. A homemaker, she lived in the community most of her life. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Central United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Magnolia Rebekah Lodge.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her daughters: Carolyn Davies of Mobile, AL, Grover Dade Prescott of Fitzgerald and Jeannie Kennedy Cox of Columbus; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister: Catherine Nelson of Macon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Linwood Kennedy, two grandchildren, five brothers and five sisters.
