Gilford-----Mayme Marie Engelsen, 88, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
Mayme was born on February 13, 1927 in Tiskilwa, IL, the daughter of the late Edgar and Edna (Minier) Snyder. Her first husband, Frederick Lundin, predeceased her.
Mayme is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Douglas Engelsen. There are seven children and spouses who will miss their Mom dearly: Douglas Lundin and Cheri (DeWitts), Kimberly (Engelsen) and Paul Sanborn, Patrice (Engelsen) and Dave Jenkins, Laurie (Engelsen) and Ben Rockney, Todd and Leslie (Pelt) Engelsen, Clark and Christine (Hawko) Engelsen, and Craig and Kristen (Frisbie) Engelsen. Mayme is loved by 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Mayme loved her family with all her heart. She shared the gift of salvation with her children, the greatest gift she could have given them.
Mayme was a registered nurse for various doctors at Laconia Clinic. She led Friendship Bible Studies for 18 years. She ministered and served in many leadership roles at South Baptist Church for over 40 years. She lived her life to serve others, always being there to support her family, friends and those in need.
All are invited to a celebration of Mayme's life on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the South Baptist Church, 85 Court Street, Laconia NH. There will be a private family burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH. There will be no calling hours.
