SALEM, NH – Roland P. “Butch” Tremblay, 64 of Salem, NH passed away Monday July 13, 2015 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
Born and educated in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of Roland and Anne (Fleury) Tremblay. He attended St. Anne’s Grammar School in Lawrence, the Greater Lawrence Technical School in Andover and received his bachelor’s degree from Fitchburg State and Franklin Pierce College. For 35 years, Roland was an auto body instructor at the Greater Lawrence Technical School in Andover. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, was an avid sports fan and coached basketball, cross country and coached softball and baseball for his children in Salem, NH.
Roland leaves his wife of 43 years, Patricia M. (Carignan) Tremblay of Salem, NH. He is also survived by his daughter and son, Angela M. Tremblay of Manchester, NH and Nathaniel R. Tremblay of Salem, NH. Roland also leaves his sisters and brothers, Rachel Fournier and her husband Gordon of Mesa, AZ, Robert Tremblay and his wife Jane of Methuen, MA, Robin Costello and her husband Joseph of Haverhill, MA and Richard Tremblay and his wife Lori of Methuen, MA; one granddaughter, Alexa Fields and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society 43 Nagog Park STE. 110 Acton, MA 01720. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Friday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated of Saturday at 11:00a.m. in St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA. At the request of the family interment will be private at a later date.
