Obituary

BEVERLY: Ruth Jean (Tiplady) Trefry, 89, died peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2015 in the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born in Peabody on July 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James and Mildred (Bickford) Tiplady. She had resided in Danvers for many years before moving to Beverly sixty years ago. She was a graduate of Danvers High School and later in life graduated from North Shore Community College with a certificate in bookkeeping.
Ruth Jean was employed as a bookkeeper for the CETA Program in Salem and Lynn for many years before her retirement in 1987. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, was an avid reader and loved to work in her gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Tobin and her husband, Keith of Beverly; two sons, David Thomas Trefry and his wife, Joan and Larry Trefry and his wife, Linda all of Beverly; six grandchildren, Melissa Tobin, Jeffrey Tobin and his wife, Jacqueline, Allison Gordon and her husband, Kevin, Mari Minkel and her husband, Chris, Kerri Pereira and her husband, Keno and Kelly Marks and her husband, Peter; six great-grandchildren, Darren Tobin, Nathaniel, Lucas and Rosemary Marks, Taryn Wendell and Noah Pereira; her dear friend, Evelyn Dwinell of Topsfield and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her two sons, Douglas Roy Trefry and Robert “Bobby” Trefry and three brothers, James Tiplady, Jr., Robert Tiplady and Richard Tiplady.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday in the North Beverly Cemetery, Cabot St., Beverly at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Epilepsy Foundation of New England, 540 Gallivan Blvd, 2nd Fl., Boston, MA 02124.
