O'MALLEY, Austin J. 89, of Dedham, July 11, 2015. Devoted son of the late Austin and Ann O'Malley. Loving husband for 62 years to Claire (Connery) O'Malley. Beloved father of Maryann Murray and her husband Peter of Franklin, Kathleen O'Malley of West Lebanon, NH, Maggie O'Malley of Norwood, and Joseph F. O'Malley and his wife Maryellen "Meme" of West Newton. Beloved grandfather of Matthew and Liana Murray and Owen O'Malley. Pre-deceased by his siblings Mary E. O'Malley, John F. "Bud" O'Malley and Rev. Thomas P. O'Malley, S.J. and by his beloved grandson Emmett J. O'Malley.
A Triple Eagle, Boston College High School, 1943 and Boston College BS & MS Physics, 1950 and 1952 respectfully. WWII Veteran, U.S. Navy. Member Group Pacific II Naval Base 3150 at Iwo Jima. He started his career at Baird Associates, a manufacturer of spectrograph equipment. Retired after 28 years as Manager of China operations from GCA Corp, a manufacturer of lithographic equipment and semi conductor devices. A dedicated singer with St. Mary Adult Choir for 39 years.member of the Dedham Retired Mens' Club and the Dedham Knights of Columbus #234.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty and Sons, Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Thursday, July 16 at 8am. Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Dedham at 9am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Wednesday, July 15 from 4-8pm. Interment Milton Cemetery.
