WORCESTER-Leonidha Andoni, 91, of 82 Newton Avenue North died at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 23rd after a short illness. He leaves his wife Rino (Saqellari) Andoni, a daughter, Majlinda Andoni wife of Alex Shollo of Worcester, 2 grandchildren, Leonard and Ilira Shollo, many nephews and nieces. 2 brothers and 3 sisters predeceased him.
He was born in Zagoria, Albania in 1913 the son of Spiro and Maro (Dilogjika) Andoni and immigrated to Worcester in 1928. Mr. Andoni worked at Crompton & Knowles Corporation for 40 years, retiring in 1979 and then returned to Albania to join his family. In June of 1996 he returned to Worcester with his family.
The funeral is Tuesday, April 26th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at Noon in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salibury Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, April 25th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
