Leona Daniel Tucker, 92, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Friday, April 22, 2005 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Monday, April 25, 2005 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Irwin County, with Rev. John Gibbs, Jr., Rev. Tammy Lee, and Rev. Mark Swain officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 9:00 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Tucker was born September 30, 1912, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Thomas and Mattie Arnold Daniel. She was a homemaker and had lived in the community all of her life. She had been a very active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church since 1926. Mrs. Tucker was a Sunday School teacher, Training Union teacher, GA’s Leader, and a member of the WMU.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Tommy & Betty Tucker of Augusta and Glenn Tucker of Fitzgerald; one daughter and son-in-law: Glenda T. & Charlie Flanders of Alapaha; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Inez Wheeler and Lorena & Edward Bryant, all of Ocilla; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Charlie Daniels and Leon & Ruth Daniels, all of Birmingham, AL and H.M. & Annie Jim Daniel of Fitzgerald; and one sister-in-law: Annabelle Daniels of Columbus, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Devane Tucker, and by her brothers and sisters: Cleo Daniels, Agnes Hobbs, Emmett Daniel and Ira “Dan” Daniels.
