Clarissa J. (Burrows) Jones, 83, of Rathbun Place, Mystic, died Thursday at Pendleton in Mystic.
A life-long resident of Mystic, Mrs. Jones was born in the family home on December 4, 1921 the daughter of Rhodes and Mildred (Denison) Burrows. She attended local schools and was a 1940 graduate of Fitch High School and later received her Bachelors Degree from Willimantic Teachers College. She then taught at S.B. Cutler School for four years before her marriage to Richard C. Jones at the Union Baptist Church on June 25, 1949. He died February 12, 2000.
She was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church and the Denison Society.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her son, Ralph Jones of New London, nieces and nephews.
