Obituary

Albert E. Andrews, Sr., 91 of 151 Paxton Rd., died Thursday, April
21 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 69 3/4 years F. Carole (Harvey) Andrews, two sons
Albert E. "Sonny" Andrews, Jr. and wife Nancy of Spencer, Douglas H.
Andrews and wife Betty of Pittsfield, N.H., a daughter; Linda (Andrews) Cook
and her husband Paul of Plymouth, MA., a sister; May (Andrews) Hart of
Spencer, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great
grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Joyce C. Andrews, a
brother, Carl Andrews, and a sister, Doris (Andrews) Adams.
Born in Spencer, he was the son of Roswell W. & Hazel (Hodgerney) Andrews
and has lived here all his life.
Mr. Andrews was a PROUD dairy farmer in Spencer for over 70 years. He was a
graduate of David Prouty High School and received an accounting degree from
Becker College in Worcester. He was a member of the town and state
Conservation Commission and was chairman of the Spencer Commission for 30
years. He was chairman of the Southern Worcester County Soil District for 50
years. He was an active 4-H Leader and former President, Chairman, Charter
member and Corporator of the Worcester County 4-H Center, and a member of
4-H Camp Marshall in Spencer for over 50 years. He was a member of the
Spencer Agricultural Association for 30 years, the MA. Farm Bureau
Association and several other farm associations along with serving on
various other town committees. He was a member of the First Congregational
Church of Spencer for more then 60 years.
Albert was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather and a friend to all, who will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m. in the First
Congregational Church of Spencer, 205 Main St., Spencer. Burial will be in
Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Sunday, April 24 from 4-7
p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to
Camp Marshall, 92 McCormick Rd., Spencer, MA. 01562. The J. HENRI MORIN &
SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer are directing arrangements.
