FALL RIVER - Gladys E. (Ferry) Travis, 79, of 2446 Highland Ave., formerly of 564 No. Underwood St., Fall River, died Wednesday at the Catholic Memorial Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Travis. She was the mother of Ronald Travis and Cheryl A. Costa both of Fall River, Grandmother of Dawn Farinha, Ronald J. Travis, and John, Keith R., and Cymry A. Costa, Sister of Alfred Ferry of Florida and Evelyn Charron of Fall River, Four Great Grandchildren, & Several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Gerald Travis, and sister of the late Edna Parent.
Born in Fall River the daughter of the late Everette Ferry and the late Etta Mae (Webster) Ferry. She was a Fall River resident all her life. Prior to retirement, she worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for many years at Catholic Memorial Home. During her retirement, she worked as a Senior Aide in Fall River for 10 years until 1998.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No.Main St. on Saturday at 10:00 AM with a funeral service in the funeral home. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4-8 PM
