Clayton J. Minshew, 76, of Rebecca, Georgia died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Rebecca, with Rev. Charles Parker and Rev. Gene Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Young Cemetery, Ben Hill County. Visitation will be held from 7-9 PM on Friday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Minshew was born January 11, 1929, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late James Walter and Viola Smith Minshew. A farmer, he lived in the community all of his life. Mr. Minshew was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Woodmen Of The World. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Minshew is survived by his wife of fifty-two years: Florence G. Minshew of Rebecca; five daughters: Patricia (Virgil) McRae of Mt. Vernon, Kathy (Terry) Hester of Fitzgerald, Janice (Jerry) Lavender of Ashburn, Glenda (Ned) Wilson of Rebecca and Tammy Minshew of Fitzgerald; ten grandchildren; two sisters: Connie Musslewhite of Rochelle and Susie Barrett of Waycross. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Thurman “Bull” Minshew.
