Francis Xavier (Frank) Turcotte died Saturday, July 11, 2015 after a year long battle with multiple myeloma and lung cancers. He was born on February 28, 1932 in Boston, MA to Catherine and Charles Turcotte, was educated in the Boston Public School system and received Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Frank served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War years, in Orleans, France, where he met his wife of over 58 years, Rosemarie (McGrath) Turcotte of Philadelphia, PA. The couple enjoyed extensive travels throughout Europe during the early days of their courtship and began a lifelong romance. They resided in Philadelphia, Boston, and New Jersey where they raised their four children. Frank and Rose created a beautiful family retreat on Lake Opechee, in Laconia, NH where family and friends shared their joyful company and beautiful surroundings for many years. Frank enjoyed many wonderful friendships and great support while residing at the Nevins Community in Londonderry where he and his wife have resided over the last 8 years.
Frank leaves behind son Francis X. Turcotte, Jr., and his wife Mary E. (Missy) Kirk Turcotte of East Brunswick, NJ, son Edward Turcotte of Pembroke, NH and partner Lori Lessard, daughter Dianne and husband John Bzik of Bedford, NH, and daughter Jennifer and husband Christopher Humphrey of Kennebunk, ME. Frank leaves 8 grandchildren: Francis X. Turcotte III and his wife Nicole Raff-Turcotte, Holly Turcotte Monahan and Brendan Monahan, Brandon Turcotte and Kyung Eun Heou Turcotte, Lara Bzik and her intended Kyle Galarneau, Brian and Emma Bzik, Jackson and Anna Humphrey. Also surviving are his great grandchildren Bryona, Brielle, and Baylee Raff, Devan, Carter, Shaylee, and Brinley Monahan (to be born Dec. 2015), Alexis and Caleb Turcotte, as well as many other beloved nephews, nieces, and friends. Frank was predeceased by his son and daughter Thomas and Christine, his sister and brother, Marie Lyddy and Charles Turcotte, and many beloved sisters and brothers-in-law.
Frank was dedicated to his work in the field of construction, working for Clarendon, Varney and Pike of Boston, Timber Structures of NJ, Turner Construction of Philadelphia, and Harvey Construction of Bedford, NH. He enjoyed playing piano, cabinet making, and most especially his loving family. Frank will be remembered as a devoted family man of the highest integrity, and a true gentleman with clever intellect and wit. He was widely known as “a real Class Act.”
Calling hours were Tuesday, July 14th from 6-8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A funeral mass was held on Wednesday, July 15th at 11am at St. Jude Church, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Frank’s fierce patriotism continued throughout his lifetime.
