Obituary

Anastasia (Kourtis) Tsipopoulos, 84, of Manchester, died July 11th, 2015 at her residence after a long illness.
She was born in Manchester on December 28, 1930 to Markos and Olga (Stoumbos) Kourtis. She lived in Manchester for most of her life.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA and went on to become a music teacher in the Manchester school system for many years. Known as Mrs. T, she taught at Hillside Junior High School where she enjoyed producing and directing many musicals. She had also taught at several other Manchester area elementary schools as well.
Anastasia was married for 50 years to Emanuel “Muscles” Tsipopoulos who died in 2007. She was also predeceased by a son in law, Thomas Kennedy and a sister, Irene Edgerly.
She was a member of the teacher’s sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa, The Red Hat Society and served as a Granite State Ambassador. She enjoyed reading, ceramics, travelling, and spending time with her loving family. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral where she served as choir director for many years. She was dedicated to her family and friends and was loved by many for her generosity and compassion.
The family includes two daughters, Helen Minkle and her husband, David, of Manchester and Dorothea Tsipopoulos of Honolulu, HI; a sister, Helen Whiteside and her husband, Richard, of Hampton; her close friend and caregiver Mary Wainright; and Godchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Road, Manchester.
