CHERRY VALLEY – Robert J. Perron, 76, of Main Street died Sunday, April 17 in UMASS Memorial Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 50 years Lorraine (Graton) Perron; a brother Albert of St. Petersburg, FL; six sisters Jeannette Beauchemin of Washington, Irene Belisle of North Carolina, Lorraine Geary of Tennessee, Theresa Faucher of Carlise, Pauline Stone and Cecile Scally both of Millbury; 38 nieces and nephews including Elaine Puzo who was like a daughter and several grand nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by four brothers Camille, Arthur, Raymond and Richard; four sisters Beatrice Lareau, Antoinette Porky, Rita Dion and Eveline Dupuis. He was the son of Pierre and Bertha (Dalbec) Perron.
Mr. Perron served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church and worked for the Painters Union Local 48 for 46 years retiring in 1991.
He was a true friend who went out of his way to help others; he took long walks every morning and loved the outdoors. Mr. Perron was affectionately known as the “Avon” man for all the orders he delivered.
The funeral will be on Thursday, April 21 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street, Worcester with a mass at 10 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 53 Illinois Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester at a later date. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 20 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to an charity of the donors choice.
