Howard C. Allen, Sr., 89 of Lynn passed away on July 9th at a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. Born in Saugus he was the son of the late Frederick and Helen (Shipley) Allen and the husband of 68 years of Josephine (Novak) Allen and settled in Lynn.
Howard was a Navy veteran of WW II; he was employed in the General Electric Company for forty years working in the turbine division. After retirement he and his wife spent winters in Florida for the last 28 years. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Lynn, St. Michael’s Retirees and a life member of Polish League of American Veterans and GE retirees.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Kenneth Allen and his wife Jean (Alex) Allen, daughter in law Jane (Allen) Lewis, his sister Audrey Daly and her husband Dan, his five granddaughters Amy Altimare and her husband Brian of Lancaster, PA, Lori Caron and her husband Robert of Haverhill, Valerie Allen of Taunton, Cynthia Allen and Susan Allen of Salem, five great grandchildren, Isabella, Lillian and Audrey Altimare and Robert and Katie Caron and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Howard Allen Jr., his brother Stanwood Allen and sister Virginia Allen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Monday July 13th in the Nadworny Funeral Home 798 Western Ave., Lynn at 9:30AM., followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anne’s Church, Lynn St. Peabody at 10:30 AM, followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
