Edward L. Englert, Jr. Esq. of Roslindale and South Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was 85 years old.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Constance M. (McGoldrick) Englert; his five children, Edward L. Englert, III and his wife Linda of Roslindale, Mary C. Noonan and her husband Dr. Thomas of Medfield, Stephen J. Englert and his wife Dr. Lisa Kachnic of Chestnut Hill, Constance M. McKeeney and her husband Michael of West Roxbury, and Christopher P. Englert and his wife Suzanne of West Roxbury; his eleven grandchildren, Madyson, Jonlyn, Michael, Samantha, Mackenzie, Christopher, Thomas, Darby, Ryan, Lindsay and Erin; and his brother Paul J. Englert of West Roxbury.
Born on October 22, 1929, in Jamaica Plain, he was the son of the late Edward L. and Mabel E. (Kirchgassner) Englert. Ed was a 1946 graduate of English High School, then served in the U.S. Army until 1948 and graduated from Boston College in 1952. He graduated from Portia Law School and was employed as an attorney by the New England Telephone Company until 1990. Ed enjoyed being a member of the Holy Name Society, the Holy Name Men’s Club and his role as correspondent for his BC Class of 1952.
Visiting hours will be held at the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury on Sunday July 12th from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Monday July 13th at 9:00 AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre Street, West Roxbury at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:15 PM.
