Dartmouth – Carlos M. Eugenio, Sr., age 78, passed away on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Noelia (Silva) Eugenio and the son of the late Maria Angelina (Avila) and Manuel Eugenio Da Rosa.
Born in Faial, Azores, Mr. Eugenio, Sr. came to this country in 1965 where he worked as a Mechanic for Dartmouth Finishing. He enjoyed playing soccer at the Portuguese Sports Club and Portuguese American Social Club. Also, Carlos was a member of the Clube Uniao Faialense.
His family includes his wife, Noelia Eugenio, of Dartmouth; 2 children: Diane Eugenio of New Bedford and the late Carlos Eugenio, Jr.; 4 grandchildren: Marissa Miranda, Alysha Silva, Brittany De Medeiros and Lindsey De Medeiros; siblings: Jose Eugenio of New Bedford, Lidia Matos of Canada and the late Manuel Cristo Da Rosa; as well as 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Tuesday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will Monday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
