Barbara A. Waldron, 91, of Medway, died Sunday, June 28, 2015. She was the wife of the late Lee G. Waldron who predeceased her in 1982.
She was born, raised and educated in Milford, MA. She was a graduate of Milford High School Class of 1941 and a 1943 graduate of Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing.
She served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps as a 2nd Lt. After the war, she worked in hospital settings until 1969 when she began working for the Town of Franklin as a school nurse, where she worked until retirement. This proved to be the most rewarding endeavor of her career combining her love of children and nursing.
Barbara was an active member of the Medway Community Church and enjoyed volunteering each year making pies for the fair and manning the book sale table. She loved to read, travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Medway Senior Center.
She is survived by her sons, Charles L. Waldron and his wife Kathleen (Coakley) Waldron of Medway and Edward J. Waldron and his wife Patricia of Wareham.
She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Allen, Dexter Sails and Jean DeWolfe.
Barbara is also survived by her grandchildren and their families, Dustin L. Waldron, his wife Amanda (Britton) Waldron and their children, Riley, Mallori and Brayden of Mansfield, MA; and Kaitlin E. (Waldron) Menear and her husband Stacey Menear of Los Angeles, CA.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews all of who were very dear to her throughout her life.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:30 p.m.
Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
