Maria (Savino) Ruberti died on Wednesday, July 8, at Wingate of Reading. Born and raised in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Caterina (Caggiano) Savino. Maria spent many years in Africa before moving to the US, settling first in Medford and then in Stoneham.
Maria was the beloved wife of the late Francesco Ruberti and the devoted mother of Nicola Ruberti and his wife Theresa, Giovanni Ruberti and his wife Ann, all of Medford, Cora Gauthier and her husband Bill of Woburn, Rossetta Serino and her husband Richard, and Cathy Ruberti, all of Stoneham. She was the loving grandmother of Bill Gauthier, Nicole Souza, John and Jaclyn Ruberti, Richard, Christopher and Lisa Serino, and the loving great grandmother of Jacob and Annabella Souza, Chase, Cameron and Lilyana Ruberti. Maria was the sister of Michelina Abbondanza of Burlington, and the late Pasquale, Joseph, Luigi, Ciriaco, Elena and Rosa. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, July 13, at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
