Obituary

BRIDGEWATER - Anthony B. Acampora, 74, of Bridgewater, formerly of Hanover,
died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Lifecare Center of West Bridgewater after a period of failing health.

Born and raised in New Haven, Conn., he was a son of the late John and Bridget (Carvoni) Acampora.

Mr. Acampora was a 20 year U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War.

He was a photographer for the Hanson police department and an on-call fireman for the Hanover fire department.

Mr. Acampora was a member of the American Legion in Machias, Maine, and an avid bowler.

He is survived by his children, Anthony and Marilyn, both of Rockland, Paul of Bridgewater, David of Pembroke and Steven of Plymouth; his siblings, Rose Calello, Tina Cascia, Ralph, Albert and Joseph Acampora, all of Connecticut; nine grandchildren; his special friend, Betty Repetti of Bridgewater; his former wife, Cecelia (Turgeron) Acampora and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Gaberal, Vincent, John and Zipeano Acampora and Virginia Skinner.

His funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday from Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, New Haven, Conn.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
