Obituary

West Boylston- Barbara H. (Spiglanin) Kadis, 89, formerly of West Boylston, passed away peacefully Friday, April 15, in Knollwood Nursing Center, Worcester.
She leaves her loving and caring husband, George J. “Lefty” Kadis, Sr., whom she was married to for 66 years; her devoted sons, Paul R. Kadis of West Boylston and Robert T. Kadis and daughter-in-law, Jane of Worcester; four grandchildren, Denise Hooper and Jeffrey Kadis of California, Jennifer Kadis of Paxton, and Michael Kadis of Worcester; three great grandchildren, Katelyn, Riley, and Natalie Hooper, all of California; nephews and nieces. A son, George J. Kadis, Jr., died in 1965, while in the service. She was also predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. Barbara was born in Racine, Wisconsin, daughter of Kostanty and Isabelle (Bogusiewicz) Spiglanin. She was raised in Worcester, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.
Mrs. Kadis was a dance instructor of Ballroom Dance at the former Danny Duggans Ballroom. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, Bingo, cats, and was an avid Red Sox fan. She especially enjoyed the family holiday dinners and cookouts at her son Robert and daughter-in-law Jane’s home.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 18, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, in the funeral home.
