Obituary

WEBSTER – Andrew R. “Dick” Tkacik, 76, of 29 Upland Ave., died Tuesday, April 12, in Oakwood Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center.

He leaves his wife of 51 years, Eva (Zalla) Tkacik; 3 daughters, Nancy J. Tkacik and her husband Scott McGilloway of Franklin, Lisa J. and her husband Kevin Morgan of Webster, and Jean S. Tkacik and her fiancé, Donald Parent of Reading; a brother, Edward Tkacik of Port Charlotte, FL; a sister Frances Bennard of Bradenton, FL; 3 grandchildren, Sean Morgan, Lynn Morgan and Rebecca McGilloway; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Tkacik.

He was born in Dudley, a son of Joseph and Mary (Andrasko) Tkacik. He was a graduate of Bartlett High School, class of 1947 and earned an associates degree in business from Nichols College in 1954.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Tkacik worked 36 years for Massachusetts Electric as a stores clerk before retiring in 1990. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, enjoyed walking, golf and especially his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Saint Louis Church. He belonged to the Webster-Dudley American Legion Post 184.

The funeral, with military honors, will be held Friday, April 15, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 15 Lake Street. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, April 14, at the funeral home.
