Margaret J. (Perrone) Anselmi, 96, of Lawrence passed away peacefully on Saturday July 4th at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence. She was the wife of the late A John Anselmi. Margaret attended local Methuen schools graduating from the Edward F. Searles High School and later went on to graduating the Graves School of Design and the Copley School of Millinery Design both in Boston. She was a charter member and past president of the Lawrence Lady Lions Club, past president of the Lawrence Italian Women’s Club, and a past president of the Lawrence Garden Club. Being active in several local community projects and drives, Margaret also worked with Elder Sevices of the Merrimack Valley at the Methuen Senior Center where she was a recipient of several awards. Margaret was also a parishioner of Holy Rosary Parish in Lawrence for many years.
Margaret is survived by daughters in law Judith Anselmi of Methuen, Janice Anselmi of Hampstead NH, a sister Ann Zoglio and her husband Anthony of Naples FL, grandchildren Gina Warner and her husband Patrick of Grafton, Alan John Anselmi Jr and his wife Colleen of Quincy, Jeffery Paul Anselmi of Methuen, Amy Kaitlin Martin and her husband Jeffery of Freemont NH, great grandchildren Ryan Allan Warner, Nolan Daniel Warner, Lillian Katherine Martin, Jackson Paul Martin, an additional great grandchild in July, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Margaret is also predeceased by her two sons Paul Anselmi, Alan Anselmi, and three sisters Rosalie Giuffre, Josephine Giuffrida, Susan Guertin.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday July 8th from 8:30 – 10:30 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday July 8th at 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish St Theresa’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow at St Mary Immaculate Cemetery in Lawrence.
