Obituary

WAYLAND: Clifford Leroy Wedlock, 98, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by his family on Friday, July 3, 2015 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Belmont on December 15, 1916 the son of the late Albert L. Wedlock and Sadie (Parkin) Wedlock.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Dorothy A. (Moody) Wedlock of Wayland. Devoted father of Jan A. Howland and her husband Rick Howland of Wayland and Nanci A. Koutsoufis of Wayland. Cherished grandfather of Nicole R. Iannuzzi and her husband Michael Iannuzzi of Norfolk; Crysti Howland of Wayland; Corrine Downey and her husband Brian Downey of Framingham and Dorthie Koutsoufis of Wayland. Great-grandfather of Isabella and Benjamin Iannuzzi of Norfolk. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Brother of the late Dorothy Harrington.
Cliff has been a lifelong resident of Wayland and attended the Wayland school system. He served his country with honor as a Tech 4th Grade with the United States Army during World War II in the CBI and Asiatic Pacific Conflict.
He began his career as a truck driver with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Cliff was one of the four original full time firefighters appointed by the Town of Wayland. He transferred to the police department and retired as a police officer and dispatcher after many years of dedicated years of service to the Town of Wayland. He also was the first police department photographer and finger print expert. He loved photography and spending countless hours at his vegetable gardens. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
At the request of his family there will be no funeral home visitations.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Wedlock family lot in North Cemetery, Old Sudbury Road (Route 27), Wayland.
In lieu of flowers his family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923; Wayland Fire and Police Dept. Association, 38 Cochituate Rd, Wayland, MA 01778 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
