Kathy E. (Townsend) Ake, 64, of Anderson, died July 3, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on September 26, 1950 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Dean and Darlene (Kenyon) Townsend. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and spending time playing with her grandchildren. She attended Main Street Church of God in Anderson.
Survivors include her mother, Darlene Townsend, her husband, Mark Ake Sr, whom she married on March 26, 1970, and 2 children; Mark (Nancy) Ake Jr., and Ellen Joyce Ake, 3 grandchildren: Michael, Katelyn and Montana Ake, Siblings; Eileen ( Eric) Schornhorst, Jane (Jeff) Antonetti, and Ward (Jody) Townsend, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her father, Dean, and her father-in-law, Edwin Ake
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Don Billey. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of the service.
