Obituary

Marilyn J. Krentz, age 62, entered into rest on June 29, 2015 at her home in Prosser. She was born on July 7, 1952 in Whitehall, New York to Daniel and Joan (Higley) Duffy. She was raised and educated Ballston Spa, New York where she graduated from high school. Marilyn and Joe Krentz first met at the dirt track race. He then made it a point to frequently stop by department store where she worked to buy Tic Tacs. He finally won over her heart the couple was married on February 26, 1977 in Pottersville, New York. Over the years they lived in New York, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Idaho, Oregon, and settled in Prosser, Washington in 2009.

While in Wisconsin, Marilyn was manager of KB Toys in Green Bay for three years until the store closed.

Marilyn enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed taking care of her husband and family. Marilyn always told her friends and family “I refuse to grow up”. Excelling in school was important to her and her Grandchildren were rewarded with trips to Disney World in Florida, if they maintained honor roll grades. Marilyn and Joe visited Disney World well over 20 times throughout their grand parenting years. Mickey Mouse was Marilyn’s favorite at any of the Disney Parks. Her family and friends cherish the many Mickey Mouse gifts she has given to them through the years. Marilyn was the go to person for questions and answers on recipes, especially when it came to baking. At various community pot lucks and family events it was Marilyn’s potato salad that was a favorite. Many people’s lives were enriched by Marilyn’s generous spirit.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Joe; her children, Joe Jr., Elizabeth, and Greg; her grandchildren, Victoria, Joe III, Danielle, Jared; and great-grandson, Ezra Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents and Joe’s parents, Alvin and Marilyn Neubarth

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Friday, July 3 at Prosser Funeral Home.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.
