Robert Henry Driscoll, Sr., age 84, died on July 2, 2015 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Caroline "Kay" (Grant) Driscoll of Plymouth. Born in Boston, MA on February 24, 1931, he was a son of the late Henry and Wanda (Alisio) Driscoll. He was a hard working family man who drove a bus for the MBTA until he retired 22 years ago. Bob was a long time Dorchester resident until he moved to Plymouth 21 years ago. He was a faithful friend of Bill W. He enjoyed helping everyone and was a great handyman. But most importantly he was a dedicated family man who found enormous pleasure simply by being with his family, which happened almost weekly. To know Bob was to love him. Besides leaving his wife of 63 years, Bob was the loving father of Maryellen Smiddy of Weymouth, Robert Jr. and his wife Sheila Driscoll of Stoneham, and Marion and her husband Mark Joyce of Scituate, MA. He was brother of the late Eleanor Joyce. He was Papa to his grandchildren; Michelle and Eric, Ryan, Marcus, Michael, and McKenzie and great-grandchildren: Damian, Olivia, Emerson and Connor and will be missed by all. Visiting hours will take place on Monday , July 6th, 2015 at the Davis Funeral & Cremation Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will take place on Tuesday morning at 9;15 from the Davis Funeral & Cremation Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter’s Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton following the Funeral Mass.
