Frances Hannah Winik passed away peacefully on July 1st at the age of 98.
Frances was a long time resident of Winthrop after moving from Revere where she engaged in many activities. She was a Cub Scout Leader, an Arts and Crafts teacher and a lifelong member of B’nai B’rith. Frances loved to dance and go for rides as long as they ended up with an ice cream treat.
Frances was a woman who had a “half cup full” philosophy of life. She always took the time to smile and say hello to anyone who passed her way.
Frances was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Winik. She was the devoted mother of former councilor Jeanne Maggio, Steven Winik and his wife Paula, Jacqueline DeStefano and her husband Kenneth, Edward Louis Winik and the late Marlene Tamara Winik. Frances was the dear grandmother of Joseph, Jason, Adam, Rebecca, Kyra, and Kyle and great grandmother of Samuel and Leah. She was the loving aunt and great aunt to many.
Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq.) Chelsea on Monday, July 6 at 10 AM. Interment in Winthrop.
