PLYMOUTH – Eleanor M. Allen, 82, of 271 Fairgrounds Road, died Friday, June 26, 2015 at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Laconia.
She was born on August 11, 1932 in Plymouth, the daughter of the late Rolla Sr. and Hattie (Loverin) Blake. Eleanor worked for a number of years for area mills, most recently for Rochester Shoe. She was a longtime member of the Campton Congregational Church where she acted as a deacon and was a member of the Ladies Guild. Eleanor was a member of the VFW Post #4483 Ladies Auxiliary in Plymouth and held many offices there. She was always willing to help others and was very involved with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters; Mary Daniels and her husband Timothy of Campton and Cathy Gilman and her husband Mark of Exeter, six grandchildren; Staci Schmidt, Jennifer Daniels, Heidi Daniels, Crystal Daniels, Eric Daniels and Eric Weeks , four great grandchildren; Aaron Schmidt, Connor Daniels, Alex Fellows and Mya Daniels, one brother, Donald “Joe” Blake of Florida and one sister, Marilyn Fortier of Nashua. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Burton J. Allen in 2005 and two brothers; Lawrence Blake and Rolla Blake Jr.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Campton Congregational Church, 495 NH Route 175, Campton. Burial will follow in the family plot at Blair Cemetery in Campton.
