Florence M. (Waugh) Keese, age 99, of Madonna Manor in Attleboro, formerly of Brockton died June 29, 2015 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late John D. Keese, Jr. Born and raised in Boston, she was the daughter of Percival and Josephine (Fanning) Waugh. Florence was a graduate of Hyde Park High School and Dean Jr. College. Before her retirement she was a medical secretary at the former Washingtonian Hospital in Forest Hills and Boston University School of Medicine Psychiatry Department. Florence was a woman of strong faith and was a member of Charismatic Renewal and Prayer Groups; the Prayer Group of the Chapel of Our Savior, and a daily communicant of Christ the King Parish. She was also a Eucharistic Minister at St. Nicholas Church and Brockton Hospital. For many years she had been a professional ballroom dancer. She also enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren, reading, and sitting by the water at the beach.
Florence is survived by her daughters Gayle Benson and her husband Lloyd of N. Attleboro; Loretta Furtado and her husband Fred of Ft. Myers, FL and Cheryl DeSantis and her husband Robert of Braintree; 7 grandchildren Laura Lee Buckman; Nicole Ivy, Sharon and Heather Benson, Jennifer Claeson, Robert “Bobby” DeSantis and Deborah Pike; and 11 great grandchildren Ashley, Cassandra, Cameryn, Harper, Jaxon, Robert III, Logan, Katie, Tyler, Brandon and Michael. She was the sister of the late George, Violet, Anna, Frank P., Arnold, William and Jack Waugh.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday, July 6, 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 9:30am for a funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton, at 10:30am. Burial in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Graymoor Christian Unity Center, PO Box 300, Garrison, NY 10524.
