Emily Duchesne, 96, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Greenville Skilled Nursing Center in Smithfield. She was the widow of Leo J. Duchesne.
Born in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Sousa) Medeiros. Emily was a homemaker, and loving mother. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family.
A devout church goer, Emily walked to Mass every Sunday. Emily loved music and enjoyed singing. She also enjoyed traveling and during her time in New York City, she and her husband Leo visited the Radio City Music Hall, an experience she talked about often.
She is survived by her two beloved children, Gregory A. Duchesne and his wife, Lisa of Greenville, and Herlene M. Ugarte and her husband, Daniel, of Pawtucket, as well as her four cherished grandchildren, Jason, Joseph, Allison and Jillian, four great-grandchildren, Tianna, Jayla, Zoey and Jaxon, and her sister, Sadie Gomes of Bristol. Emily is predeceased by her son Wayne L. Duchesne and her sister, Mary Ferreira.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 10am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visitation Thursday 4-7pm.
