Norma Jean (Burdick) Rogers, 72, of Preston, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. She joined her son, Todd, on his birthday.
Norma was born in Mystic, on Aug. 21, 1942, the daughter of the late Earl Burdick Sr. and Florence (Allen) Burdick. She graduated from Norwich Technical School; her trade was sewing.
Norma married Norman O. Rogers on Nov. 24, 1962.
She worked at Norwich State Hospital and then at Hamilton Pavilion Healthcare as a CNA until she retired in 2001. Norma was a caregiver and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed time with her family, camping, and being on the go!
In addition to her parents and son, she was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Fusaro and Lois Maye, and her brothers, Richard and Russell Burdick.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Norman Rogers and his wife, Camela; her daughter, Wendy Moreland and her husband, Scott; granddaughters, Lillian Rogers and Autumn Moreland; grandson, Christopher Moyer; great-grandson, Mason Todd Moyer; sisters, Ruth Stone, Majorie Balestracci, Carole Beck; and brother, Earl Burdick Jr.
A memorial service will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015, at St. James Episcopal Church, 95 Route 2A, Preston. Burial will be private.
