Obituary

Kazakaitis, Alvydas V., born in Bradford, England and resident of Sharon, Massachusetts passed away on June 28, 2015 at the age of 65 after bravely fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
Born on June 23, 1950 and son of the late Vincentas and Cecilija Kazakaitis, he is survived by his beloved wife Danute Kazakaitis, his four daughters Angelika, Loreta, Lina, and Laura Kazakaitis, his son-in-law Simas Phillips and his future son-in-law Anthony Poillucci. He also leaves behind many close relatives in Lithuania and the U.S., including his sister Aldona Walat and husband Helmut of Marshfield and sister Laima Kazakaitis of Brookline as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also brother to the late Algimantas J. Kazakaitis.
Alvydas proudly served the United States as a sergeant with the 101st Airborne Infantry Division in Vietnam March 1970 - April 1971. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Al will be missed by his Band of Brothers. (Drive on!) Alvydas graduated with a B.S. degree in accounting from Boston University’s School of Management and earned his Masters at Bentley University. He was an auditor for the DCAA and a CPA of his own business.
Alvydas was an active member of Boston’s Lithuanian community. He loved soccer and tennis and was passionate about playing his guitar. His gentle voice will always be heard with a melody of a Beatles song.
A wake will be held Thursday, July 2nd from 4-8 p.m. at Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester St., South Boston. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Lithuanian Church, Flaherty Way, South Boston. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Boston.
