LACONIA - Walter Patrick Quinn, 87, passed away at LRGHealthcare on Sunday morning, June 28 after a long illness.
Born in Utica, NY to James N. and Clara Quinn in 1927, Walter moved to Laconia with his wife, Elaine Quinn in the late 1950’s where he took a position as the Executive Director of Laconia Chamber of Commerce. More recently Walter owned and operated a dry cleaning business and developed Quinn’s Gaslight Village and White Rock Estates in Lochmere later adding Mountain View Village in Gilford.
Walter was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Laconia and enjoyed working with the youth of the church. Walter was a WWII veteran of the US Navy receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. Walter is predeceased by his wife, Elaine who ran a popular dance studio in Laconia for many years, and their son Scott.
Calling hours will be held from 4Pm to 7PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1244 Old North Main Street, Laconia. Burial will follow in the family plot at Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
