Larry (Snap) Wayne Taylor, age 65, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his sisters residence.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Steve Pickern officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at The Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Taylor was born January 4, 1950, in Ocilla, GA to the late Hugh Dorsey and Mabel Doris Carmichael Taylor. He was a self-employed welder most of his working career and also worked with Goodman Welding Service. He was nicknamed “Snap” by his mother when he was a young child; he also enjoyed hunting and fishing and attended Riverbend Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children and their spouses: Rhonda T. Tucker and husband Herman of Ocilla, Frank Taylor of Fitzgerald, Tonya T. Stone and husband Eugene of Fitzgerald, Larry Taylor, II of Cullman AL; step-children: Michael Gills, David Gills, Clay Gills,Jeffrey Gills and Stephanie Gills all of Wilcox County, GA; twelve grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren; and his loving canine companion, Coco; sister and brother-in-law: Kay T. Langston and husband Bo; brothers and sisters-in-law: James Taylor and wife Lisa, Dewey Taylor and wife Mildred, Hugh D. Taylor and wife Renee all of Fitzgerald, GA In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jessica Brooke Taylor; two sisters, Evelyn Taylor and Annette T. Gordon.
