Obituary

George E. Kelley, 74, of Appleseed Drive, Greenville, peacefully passed away in his own home, Saturday, June 27, 2015 He was the husband of Carlotta M. (DiMaio) Kelley. They had been married for 52 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George and Grace E. (Conley) Kelley. He had lived in Greenville for most of his life. Mr. Kelley had worked as a project engineer for ITT Industrial Piping Division in Providence. He had also worked for Stone and Webster Engineering Corp. in Boston as a Senior Supervisor-Project Control Assistant Division Manager-Management Systems and as an Independent Management Consultant to Lockheed Martin Advanced Environmental Services. He also was a Program Management Specialist on DOE’s Tank Waste Remediation System Program in Richland, WA and a Principal Project Manager in International Operations Department for Foxboro Co. (Invensys) in Massachusetts.
He received his BSME and MBA from the University of Rhode Island and a certificate of Systems Dynamics/Project Management Modeling System from SWEC and MIT.
He was a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers and of the Project Management Institute. He was a former director of the Stone & Webster Federal Credit Union, and a trustee of the Greenville Library Board.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children: Jacqueline Kelley and her husband, David Krekorian of Cranston, George Kelley and his wife Myitzu (Win) of Fairfax, VA, and James Kelley of Warwick, his grandchildren: Amanda Kelley of Wilmington, NC, Christopher, Emily and Shannon Kelley of Fairfax, VA, Nicholas and Noah James of Cranston, step grandchildren: Karoline Krekorian of Washington, DC and Alexandra Krekorian of Providence, siblings: Patricia Kelley Siminski and her husband, Robert, of East Greenwich, William Kelley and his wife, Joyce, of Harpswell, ME.
Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am on Friday, July 3, 2015, in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation on Thursday, July 2, 4-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Greenville Public Library, 573 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828.
