Barbara M. (Tripp) Lewis, 83, of Westport, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late George Lewis.
Born in Westport, daughter of the late Nelson and Jennie (Jones) Tripp, she had been a lifelong resident of the town. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress for various mills in Fall River. Mrs. Lewis enjoyed sewing so much that she later opened up her own alterations business. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her 2 daughters: Beverly J. Rosa and her husband John of Dartmouth and Brenda L. Dexter and her husband Alex of Westport; 2 brothers: Richard Tripp of Assonet and Ronald Tripp of Fall River; 2 grandchildren: Jeremy Rosa and Melissa Pacheco; 3 great grandchildren: Ryan, Owen and Audrina Rosa; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00, prior to the service.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
