Obituary

Gerardine Y. Roy, 90, of Manchester, went to be with the Lord June 23, 2015 at Mt. Carmel Nursing home after a period of declining health.

She was born in Honfleur, Quebec June 26, 1924 the daughter of Theophile and Maria (Bilodeau) Dion. She left her family and moved to Manchester to be with her husband and love of her life Roland. Wanting to learn English she took classes where she met her long time best friend Jeannine Lessard who passed away April 2001.

She was a communicant of Parish of the Transfiguration. Her faith and devotion to God was undeniable.

Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her life. They made her life full and having them together meant the world to her. She had a kind heart for the unfortunate, always wanting to deny her wants to assist those in need.

Among some of her most cherished memories were of growing up in rural Canada and the stories were cherished by all who heard them.

She will be remembered by her endearing sayings and songs, and by her always being there for whoever was in need.

Family members include four children, Robert Roy and his wife Jeanette, Andre Roy and his wife Maureen, all of Manchester, George Roy and his wife Kim of Deering, and Diane Bergeron and her husband Curt of Hooksett; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; two siblings, Henedine Beaudoin and Marcel Dion, both of Canada; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roland Roy and by a granddaughter, Sarah.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home for the exceptional care tending to her and those who loved her.

Calling hours are Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley St., Manchester. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
