HORN - Jeannette Faye Little Horn passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, June 24, 2015 at her Fernandina Beach home surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
Born in Fernandina Beach, , she was the oldest of six children born to the late Clifton J. and Evelyn Cook Little. Faye grew up and attended Fernandina Beach High School where she met the love of her life, James McCall Horn. They were both members of the 1959 graduating class of FBHS and married in the fall of 1959.
Faye was the first Miss Nassau County in 1959 and after graduation went to work for Southern Bell as a switchboard operator. Soon after she and Jimmy would begin their family and her life-long career as a homemaker.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Rebecca Alice Norris and Linda Joyce Price.
Faye leaves her beloved husband, Jimmy; her daughter, Teresa Horn Delle Donne and husband Dave of Fernandina Beach and El Dorado Hills, CA; her son Mac Horn and his wife, Audrey of Bethlehem, GA; her grandson, Derek Horn and his wife, Jennifer: granddaughters, Kayliegh Horn May and her husband, Justin; Alli Delle Donne Flores and her husband, Josh, and Katie Delle Donne DeMond and her husband, Greg; brother, Butch Little and wife Becky, brother, Dennis Little and wife, Mary Julia and brother Neil Little and wife, Debbie, all of Fernandina Beach; brothers in law, Frank Norris and John "Alva" Price; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Faye's family was her greatest accomplishment in life. Countess holidays and life milestones were celebrated with her family and friends which always included large family meals and lots of love and laughter.
Faye also enjoyed spending time in her garden, camping, traveling and had a passion for books.
A memorial service will be held at St. Pete's Episcopal Church on Thursday July 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
