TEWKSBURY: Mildred L. Evans, age 71, a resident of Tewksbury for 14 years, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
Born in Charlestown on November 29, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ernest W. and Pauline (Ferrette) Evans.
Ms. Evans was raised in Charlestown.
She attended the St. Francis de Sales school and was graduated from the Julie Billiart Central High School in 1951.
She lived for many years in Medford until moving to Tewksbury in 1991.
Ms. Evans was a communicant of St. Williams Church.
Prior to her retirement in 1985, she was employed for 35 years by the State Street Bank in Boston.
She enjoyed dancing, crossword puzzles, watching the Boston Bruins and visiting with her coffee club friends at the Burger King restaurant in Tewksbury.
She is survived by 2 nieces; Nancy J. Irons of Tewksbury and Joanne Fierimonte of Methuen; 1 sister; Leona Vincent of California; also numerous additional nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; her former husband; Sam Grasso of Pelham, NH.
She was the sister of the late Lorraine Smith, Pauline Broderick and Ernest W. Evans, Jr.
Calling hours Monday, April 11th from 4-8 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral Tuesday, April 12th at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home. Funeral Mass Tuesday, April 12th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
